I met Saskia and Jason at a wedding fair at The Dome in Worthing – they were a memorable group… erm because they’re hilarious! A few months went by, and I had unknowingly started following Saskia on Instagram (for her make up skillz of course)… but luckily that led to Saskia and Jason booking me!
Skip forward to 24th May 2016 and I’m at Saskia’s mum’s house for bridal prep whilst my wonderful second for the day, Jenny of Jenny Owens Photography is at Jason’s parents house. Saskia had hired Zoe Melissa Mae for her make up. There were tonnes of laughs (even toy medals were being awarded) before heading to the days venue, Upwaltham Barns, where Saskia and her bridesmaid Helen would put on their dresses and finish getting ready.
Upwalthams Barns is so spacious and well equipped, I would definitely recommend this venue to brides in and around West Sussex, the grounds and barns are huge!
This was a super fun wedding to shoot, so many awesome details! The bouquets, buttonholes and centrepieces were all been lovingly DIY’ed by Saskia or Jason, well mostly Saskia, but Jason was very proud of his handpainted wooden sign! Saskia and Jason had clearly really thought through a strong theme that matched their personalities and had subtle (and not so subtle!) nods to their favourite things. I loved the fantasy and superhero vibes, from the centrepieces (my favourite is the Smaug one from The Hobbit!) and Lego buttonholes, to the Batgirl and Catwoman bridal robes, so much love and thought had gone into every step of the day. Even Saskia and Jason’s vows had some cleverly placed quotes from Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings.. I def recognised a few!
